Martha McCauley taught 9th-grade Government/Economics for 31 years and retired in 2001. For the next 20-odd years she has worked at MEC as a tutor, a substitute, and as a seminar teacher. She graduated from Appalachian State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She believes all students are unique individuals that deserve a stimulating environment in which they can grow mentally, emotionally and socially. It is her desire to create this type of environment where students can reach their full potential.
