The sound of “Pomp and Circumstance” will ring as McDowell High School holds its graduation ceremony for the class of 2024 on Friday at the Titan Football Stadium.

The graduation will begin at 7 p.m. in the stadium and there is no limit to the number of people in attendance since the graduation will be held outside. Should inclement weather occur just prior to the graduation, the ceremony will be delayed until conditions are safe enough for the graduation to be held. Graduates will park at West McDowell Middle School and a shuttle to the high school will be provided. Seniors will need to report to the high school’s auxiliary gymnasium for lineup.

Handicap parking is available in the high school parking lot for guests needing accessibility, but placards or stickers must be in clear view when entering through security at both the West McDowell and Five Lane entrances to campus. McDowell County Schools will also provide a shuttle service for the general public stationed at the Marion City Square Roses parking area, the old Bi-Lo parking area and in front of Pleasant Gardens Elementary School. Shuttles will begin at 4:45 p.m. Friday and run until 6:30 p.m.
