KARAH WILSON
Theatre
Karah Wilson is the Theatre Arts Director at McDowell High School.
Mrs. Wilson holds a Bachelor of Science in Education, Elementary Education from Western Carolina University with a Minor in Theatre and concentration in K-12 reading. During her time at Western, she worked on many productions including "Fiddler on the Roof", "RENT", "A Chorus Line", "Natural Selection" and "Kiss Me, Kate". Many of the productions she was a part of were under the direction of Broadway Actor, Terence Mann endowed chair professor of WCU.
She worked in the costume and scenery shop on the campus of WCU in the Bardo Performing Arts Center where she learned to draft clothing patterns, build costumes, create lighting designs, and build scenery sets. This was under the leadership of Luther Jones & Zan Barnes.
Prior to her appointment at McDowell High School, she taught sixth grade theatre in Buncombe County, and fifth and sixth grade math at North Cove Elementary.
