About Us

McDowell High School is located in Marion, North Carolina, which is in the western region of North Carolina.  Our school is a part of the McDowell County School System. MHS has a student population of approximately 1,700 students. McDowell County Schools and McDowell High School are AdvancED/Southern Association of Colleges and Schools accredited.
