AMY GOODSON
Seminar Teacher
Amy Goodson has completed 26 years of teaching. She has a degree in Elementary Education and taught kindergarten for two years. She took a year off after having my daughter. Then she taught at a youth prison for seventeen years. During that time she procured a Master's degree in Middle grades Education with a concentration in math from ASU. After the High Rise closed, she started working in McDowell County at the Alternative Learning Center. When the ALC transitioned to McDowell Academy for Innovation she became certified to teach Earth/Environmental Science. Her educational philosophy centers on empowering students to become critical thinkers and lifelong learners who are equipped to navigate an ever-changing world so they can thrive in the 21st century.
